In March 2025, I was hired by the Special Olympics as part of their official photography team for the Winter World Games in Turin. Alongside a team of photographers, videographers, and writers, we worked closely with the Special Olympics’ marketing and communications team to provide comprehensive event coverage across multiple venues.

Our primary goal was to deliver live photographic coverage for 60 delegations, ensuring they had high-quality images to share in real-time. To streamline access, we set up a Dropbox system categorized by country and sport, allowing team representatives to download images instantly. Over ten days, we covered eight sports across three cities, meticulously editing and tagging images for easy searchability.
My primary focus was on the ice rink, capturing short track speed skating and figure skating, while also contributing to the coverage of floorball, sponsor activations (Coca-Cola, Toyota, Lions Club International Foundation), VIP events, and social initiatives. Additionally, I documented the “Young Athletes” event, where 1,000 children from Italian schools participated in inclusive activities alongside athletes with intellectual disabilities. I also had the profound experience of covering sports adapted for individuals with severe motor disabilities, emphasizing the unifying power of sport.

Each day, I delivered between 700 and 1,000 live images, covering not only the competitions but also the branding, city activations, and the Opening & Closing Ceremonies. This project reinforced my expertise in sports event photography, live event coverage, and sponsor-driven visual storytelling, providing impactful imagery that captured the spirit of inclusion, determination, and celebration.
